Marco Di Francesco is full professor in Mathematical Analysis. His research covers aggregation-diffusion PDEs in biology and social sciences, gradient flows on Wasserstein spaces, deterministic particle methods for nonlinear transport equations, vehicular and pedestrian traffic models. Formerly Reader at the University of Bath, RyC Fellow at UAB Barcelona, Visiting at DAMTP University of Cambridge, Research Scientist at RICAM Linz, he PI’d the Marie Curie CIG Grant Ref. 321957 "DifNonLoc - Diffusive Partial Differential Equations with Nonlocal Interaction in Biology and Social Sciences". He chaired an ESF research conference on applied PDEs in 2012 and a BIRS-IMAG Workshop on nonlinear diffusion models in 2023.
